About Nick Brown:

          As a young teenager, I apprenticed at a local cabinet shop in Kingston, New York. Upon completion, I moved to Florida, New York where I worked for the Vulpiani Furniture Shop, with a concentrated focus on fine furniture of the arts and crafts period. This two-year period encapsulated the purest sense of craftsmanship. The construction methods that were regularly practiced were that of mortise and tendon jointery and hand cut dovetails for drawers and casework. These were our everyday methods of fabrication, which included: on a regular basis, period restoration of fine furniture from 1760 to the 1920’s.

          Opening my own cabinet and millwork shop in 1984 allowed opportunities for quality and one of a kind fine furniture, historical millwork and custom cabinetry.  Throughout the Hudson Valley and as far as the west coast, I have made my mark. Some of my many projects have included: lawmakers desks for the Kingston City courtroom, historical millwork for the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York, and a full cabinetry package for a 12,000 sq. ft. home in Stowe, Vermont.

          Over the years, my company has served interior designers, architects, contractors, private homeowners, and corporate entities. My goal as a craftsman and owner is to work with a reasonable draft budget. Living in this economy has taught me to request an honest days pay for an honest days work and in the end, we have made today’s creations tomorrow’s heirlooms.
